Hello everyone...I'd like to get the first issue out Scrolls of the Red Brotherhood out in time for Gen-Con, including enough time to head to Kinkos and print off some issues for distribution by someone going to Gen-Con.
So, I'd like to get all contributions in before July 15th of this year. That gives me a month to compile, edit, and send out.
After that I'm aiming for either bi-monthly or quarterly. It will be based on the amount of contributions I'm seeing. If I have at least 50 pages of material by July 15th we'll shot for bi-monthly (as I'll have almost two issues worth of material allowing four pages for things like editorial, table of contents, convention calendar, and web links).

Do you have any material so far? Do you have a definite commitments for articles?
I will definitely commit a Mini Adventure to the project. I have some new skills that my group used But I'll hold on that until the core work is done.
one thing that might be interesting is if we can get all of us here to contirbute a write up of a nation. a sword & Sorcery Kingdom very generic but true to the genre (No Elves, Kender, etc.) one nation per member and maybe publish one or two each issue. After a while we might even have enough for a map.

As of now I have no material except for a book review from little old me and Drake said he'd do a session write-up of the adventure that began our genesis thread.
Mini-Adventures are welcome.
Your nation idea is interesting...want to be first?

I have an adventure scenario in mind, which is actually inspired by a Robert E. Howard story. I ran it in my Unisystem group; it'd need to be retooled for ZeFRS and for a low-tech game. Let me see what I can do.

I would recommend building up and maintaining, say, two issues' worth of backlog. That way you're not completely at the contributors' mercy all the time and won't have to run around begging for material when a dry spell happens.

That's exactly while I'll set the cycle based on how much material I have on July 15. I figure this will be my first or second biggest rush of material ever (either everyone is jazzed now or everyone will be jazzed when the first one comes out).

I intend to begin work on the adventure scenario today, and start researching my desert kingdom.

Where should we send submissions?

I'm still a little unclear on what sort of articles are going into this. My sense is that rules additions and variants are going to wait for a little while.
I had a location plus adventure hooks that I was working on for Atlantis:the Second Age which might be useful. But not sure: it's not really an adventure, more of an open-ended situation in a distinct place.
Maybe part of my question is: how long or short are the submissions to be: one page or ten?

I think at this point we just submit whatever we have that might work out, and harmast assembles the issues based on what he's got ready to go.

YAY more webzines!!! Have you decided on a format for it? PDF? Are you planning on doing the core rules from www.midcoast.com/~ricekrwc/zefrs/ in a downloadable PDF? I have a little experience with layout and such, and might be able to help out :-)

I'm working on the core rules PDF. Harmast is going to do the webzine as a PDF.

Webzine as a PDF although I do intend to run limited saddle stitch copies of each issue...with a cardstock cover (if I do the folding and the stapling it isn't TOO expensive)...at least one for myself and each contributor.
And I want to do a bunch if we have someone going to GenCon...leave out at the zines board at hand them out as they run games.

After much discussion I'm open to anything. My main goal is a good mix. If you go over 16 pages please indicate good break points to divide into two parts.

This sounds very cool. How will I be able to get my hands on this publication?
