I was looking through the character generation rules located over at www.midcoast.com/~ricekrwc/zefrs/characters.htm. One of the simple formatting additions I did to the Alpha Dawn Digitally Remastered stuff for Star Frontiers was simply adding a process summary to a few sections. Character Generation Steps: 1) Determine This... 2) Determine That... 3) Etc. etc. Many have complimented me on that - and tell me it took all the confusion out of making a character. Could these rules benefit from that? They are pretty straight-forward as-is, but having the clarity of a step-by-step process might make more people look at it and think "wow - that looks easy - I wanna make a character"

Its a good idea. But right now, I think Marc's goal is to get the basic rules up for as many people as possible to look over and grok. Conan did not enjoy as wide a distribution as SF, so it seems fair to let people form their own impressions first, then work on getting 2nd edition together.

Once the complete rules are up, we could do a quick-start sheet - something that explains, on one page, how to create a character, how to interpret the resolution chart, how to have a fight, how to heal, fall, get burnt, be poisoned, & so on. That way each player could have a single cheat sheet to refer to.

I'm still planning to work up a PDF Referee Screen as well, but that'll happen once the PDF of the core rules is done, as I can then pull the tables straight from the core rules doc and build them into a screen layout.
